The department of Undergraduate Medical Education is seeking a Patient Simulation Specialist I. This position is responsible for supporting the educational activities at the Paris Simulation Center. This includes running simulations and Basic Life Support (BLS) sessions for faculty, staff, and students, as well as preparing, maintaining and procuring equipment and supplies. The candidate should have excellent technical and troubleshooting skills for maintaining the center's equipment. The ideal candidate would have a mix of clinical knowledge and technical or computer skills.Β The candidate should have excellent organizational skills and administrative skills. The candidate should be comfortable communicating to small groups about medical topics and technology used for teaching.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate daily operations of the Simulation Center by preparing for sessions and activities, including session set-up and clean-up of simulators and the Simulation facilities.Β
Perform preventative maintenance of simulators. Run simulation sessions with faculty, staff, students and other learners; includes teaching Basic Life Support (BLS) classes for these groups.
Coordinate and maintain schedule of Simulation Center sessions and activities.
Perform general office administrative duties, including answering the office phone and directing calls, preparing certification cards (BLS, ACLS, etc.), entering evaluation data, filing, ordering, etc.Β
Obtain and maintain necessary supplies for daily use in operations.
Set up and operate the Sim Center's Virtual Reality system to manage and deliver educational content for learners.Β
Coordinate with IT to manage and update the Sim Centers website pages.
Lead and/or assist with tours of the space.
Support Director of Operations as needed; carry out other tasks/projects as requested.
Preferred Qualifications
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Certified Healthcare Simulation Operations Specialist (CHSOS)
Competencies
Medical Simulation Software, Excel, Word
Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
