A growing US-based bookkeeping, tax, and professional accounting services business is seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join its remote team. Following a recent expansion of its client portfolio, the business requires a highly skilled bookkeeping professional to manage an increased workload across multiple industries within the United States market.

This is a senior-level position requiring a technically strong bookkeeper who can independently manage full-cycle bookkeeping functions while maintaining exceptional accuracy and compliance standards. The successful candidate will work closely with a US-based leadership team and support a diverse portfolio of clients across various sectors.

Role Overview

The Senior Bookkeeper will take ownership of full-cycle bookkeeping responsibilities for multiple US-based clients. The role requires extensive experience with QuickBooks Online, strong reconciliation capabilities, payroll-related bookkeeping knowledge, and a solid understanding of US bookkeeping practices.

This is not a data-entry role. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex bookkeeping functions, analysing financial information, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring books are maintained to a high professional standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple US-based clients across various industries.
• Maintain accurate financial records within QuickBooks Online.
• Perform bank, credit card, loan, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Reconcile assets, liabilities, mortgages, and undeposited funds.
• Prepare and maintain profit and loss statements and balance sheet reports.
• Process and reconcile payroll-related transactions and journals.
• Review and analyse financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Work with multiple point-of-sale systems and reconcile sales reporting.
• Support month-end and year-end bookkeeping processes.
• Maintain organised documentation and audit-ready financial records.
• Communicate professionally with internal stakeholders regarding bookkeeping matters.

Minimum Requirements

• QuickBooks Online Certification.
• Minimum 5 years of full-time bookkeeping experience.
• At least 3 years of recent, hands-on QuickBooks Online experience.
• Demonstrated experience supporting US-based clients.
• Strong understanding of US bookkeeping principles and financial processes.
• Experience performing advanced balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience with accounts receivable, accounts payable, loans, assets, liabilities, and undeposited funds.
• Experience with payroll journals and payroll-related bookkeeping functions.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
• Professional communication skills.
• Reliable high-speed internet connection and dedicated home office environment.
• Minimum dual-screen setup.

Highly Advantageous Experience

• Exposure to US tax environments and bookkeeping requirements.
