Based in Whangārei, this role offers the opportunity to build strong local relationships, contribute to a varied pipeline of work, and continue growing your career with the support of TPG’s national network. You can expect to:

  • Take ownership of meaningful work across Northland, supported by a well-established Whangārei team and TPG’s national network.
  • Be part of a team that values local knowledge, strong relationships and practical problem-solving.
  • Contribute to work for public and private sector clients, with scope to take on more complex responsibilities as your experience grows.
  • Help strengthen TPG’s Northland presence by building trusted client relationships and identifying opportunities to support our clients.

Day-to-day, our Northland Property Consultants keep busy and engaged with:

  • Contributing to a positive Whangārei office culture that helps our people do their best work for each other, our clients and the wider region.
  • Supporting Northland’s growth by helping clients make well-informed property decisions across infrastructure, development, land access, acquisition, disposal, advisory and strategic property projects.
  • Using our local knowledge, relationships and understanding of the region to provide practical advice that reflects Northland’s aspirations, people, places, opportunities and challenges.
  • Working alongside councils, agencies, iwi, landowners, private clients and community stakeholders to build trusted relationships and deliver outcomes that are commercially sound and locally appropriate.
  • Helping our clients move projects forward by taking responsibility for workstreams, client conversations and project outcomes, while drawing on the specialist support of TPG’s wider national team where needed.
  • Identifying opportunities where TPG can support, add value, strengthen client partnerships and contribute to a stronger pipeline of work that supports Northland and our clients over the long term.
  • Providing high-quality, professional and timely property consulting advice, with a focus on sound judgement, clear communication, commercial awareness and practical solutions.
  • Working in a communicative, autonomous way so our clients receive responsive support, continuity and confidence in the advice we provide.

About you

If you know Northland, understand how relationships and local context shape good property outcomes, and are ready to use your experience to help grow TPG’s presence in the region, this could be the role for you.

Don’t meet all the requirements? That’s no problem. We are open to hearing from people with traditional property qualifications, as well as those who bring relevant property, infrastructure, project delivery, local government, planning, legalisation, land development or stakeholder engagement experience. If you have strong potential, sound judgement and the drive to keep building your capability, we would love to hear from you.

You will stand out to us if you have the following

You will bring a strong foundation in property or a closely related field, ideally gained through consultancy, local or central government, infrastructure, development, acquisition or project delivery.

You will be confident building trusted relationships with new and existing clients and comfortable identifying opportunities where TPG can add value. You will be commercially aware, proactive and interested in contributing to Northland strategy, business development and client leadership. A background in consultancy, property, law, valuation or public sector property would be advantageous, but it is not essential where you can demonstrate relevant experience and strong potential.

You will be an excellent communicator who takes pride in delivering accurate, timely and high-quality work. This is a high-trust role, so you will be comfortable working autonomously, managing competing priorities, using sound judgement and knowing when to draw on support from colleagues and TPG’s wider national team.

Just as importantly, you will contribute positively to our Whangārei office culture. You will be professional, accountable, collaborative and generous with your knowledge, with a willingness to take responsibility for your contribution, support others and help create the kind of office environment people enjoy being part of.
