Role Overview:
As we build a modern home décor and furnishing brand from the ground up, we are looking for a Sourcing professional who combines strong commercial acumen with a keen understanding of products, suppliers and market trends. This role will be instrumental in developing a robust vendor ecosystem across India and global sourcing markets, ensuring we deliver design-led, high-quality products at competitive costs.
You will own the sourcing journey—from identifying and evaluating suppliers to driving negotiations, managing product development timelines and ensuring timely execution. Beyond procurement, you'll play an important role in shaping our product portfolio by bringing in market insights, identifying sourcing opportunities and collaborating cross-functionally to bring new collections to market.
Roles and responsibilities:
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard vendors across relevant categories from India and global hubs.
- Negotiate best-in class pricing, payment terms, MOQs, and delivery timelines while maintaining quality and margin expectations.
- Conduct regular market visits, trade fair exploration and digital scouting to expand the sourcing base.
- Maintain a robust supplier database with product catalogs, pricing, and capacity details.
- Own the product development timeline from sample development to bulk production.
- Coordinate with internal teams for sample approvals, order placement, and dispatch schedules.
- Monitor order status, ensure timely delivery, and troubleshoot delays or quality concerns.
- Co-ordinate with QC team to drive cost benchmarking, quality audits, and capacity assessments for vendor selection. Also, coordinate quality and compliance checks, third-party inspections, and packaging specs.
- Track market trends and innovations across categories to help identify product opportunities.
- Maintain accurate documentation for orders, contracts, and logistics coordination.
- Manage vendor relationships and performance metrics.
The Ideal Candidate:
- 3–6 years of strong sourcing experience across categories (especially home) for e-commerce, retail or private label business.
- Strong vendor network and hands-on experience in sourcing.
- Proven negotiation skills and commercial acumen.
- Exposure to sourcing from global suppliers (especially China), preferred.
- Excellent follow-up, coordination, and communication skills.
- Proficient in Excel and basic documentation processes.
- Organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced start-up environment.
