Job Description:

The Talent Acquisition Coordinator, Law Students executes upon the law school student recruiting process and summer associate programs for one or more assigned offices. Under the direction of the Talent Acquisition Manager or Supervisor, Law Students, this position coordinates with team leadership, hiring partners, and recruiting committee members to implement recruiting strategies, administer recruiting process and summer program logistics, and hire top-level talent.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities: 

  • Directly assist in the 1L and 2L law student recruiting process for assigned office(s), including coordinating with the law schools, resume review, on campus interview logistics, creating interview schedules, gathering interviewer feedback, and facilitating the callback interview and offer process 

  • Coordinate the law student recruiting logistics through on-campus recruiting registration, creating interview schedules, gathering interviewer feedback, facilitating the callback interview process, and communication with candidates 

  • Assists senior team members by networking and partnering with law school career services to reach law students 

  • Coordinate Firm participation and sponsorship of law student outreach activities throughout the calendar year, including preparation, coordination, and event management tasks; may also attend events as needed 

  • Manage online application system to include entering candidate applications and pipeline notes, processing applications, uploading documents, and sending status update communications to ensure data integrity for all applicants 

  • Assist with planning the full 10-week Summer Associate program for assigned office(s), including liaising with vendors, booking conference rooms, ordering catering, sending out event meeting requests and preparing meeting materials and documents  

  • Administer the day-to-day logistics of the Summer Program including the work assignment and evaluation processes, coordinating trainings, planning/attending events, and other duties related to the Summer Program 

  • Interface effectively with candidates, provides candidate correspondence and updates, and submits background checks requests and processes conflicts 

  • Process payments, invoices, and reimbursements related to law student recruiting efforts, the Summer Program, and First Year Associate onboarding 

  • Compile on-campus recruiting data and survey results 

  • Contribute to firm-wide recruiting initiatives by assisting on special projects as assigned 

  • Keep apprised of market trends, NALP rules, and individual school recruiting policies 

Job Specifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree 

  • Minimum of two (2) years of law firm recruiting experience focused on Summer Associate Programs and law school recruitment activities, or 3 to 4 years of recruiting experience with a professional services organization.  

  • Experience with applicant tracking systems, viRecruit preferred 

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word) 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail 

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under tight deadlines and ability to prioritize responsibilities 

  • Ability to exercise discretion and sound judgment, and handle and maintain confidential information 

  • Ability to travel and work flexible and/or fluctuating work hours, particularly May  August 

  • Ability to work in the office 4 days per week throughout the 10-week Summer Program (typically May – July) 

Candidates who do not fully meet the qualifications for the Coordinator position may still apply, but may be considered for an Assistant-level position based on experience and qualifications.
