We're looking for an experienced and decisive Team Leader to join our operations team at the Campbellfield Resource Recovery Centre in Campbellfield, Australia. In this pivotal leadership role, you will oversee daily operations, manage a dedicated team, and ensure the facility operates efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of safety and environmental compliance. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong operational expertise, motivational leadership capabilities, and a commitment to driving continuous improvement within our resource recovery operations.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supervise and manage a team of operational staff, providing clear direction, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities
  • Ensure all facility operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations and industry best practices
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate daily operational activities to optimize resource recovery processes and facility efficiency
  • Monitor team performance, conduct performance reviews, and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Maintain accurate operational records, reports, and documentation in accordance with organizational standards
  • Identify operational challenges and implement effective solutions to improve productivity and safety outcomes
  • Communicate effectively with senior management, team members, and external stakeholders regarding operational status and performance metrics
  • Oversee equipment maintenance schedules and coordinate with maintenance personnel to minimize downtime
  • Manage budget allocations for the team and operational expenses within approved parameters
  • Foster a positive, safety-conscious workplace culture that motivates team members and promotes engagement
  • Conduct regular safety briefings and ensure adherence to all safety protocols and procedures

The skills and experience you’ll bring to the role:

  • Proven experience in a team leadership or supervisory role within operations, facility management, or resource recovery/waste management sector
  • Strong knowledge of resource recovery operations, waste management processes, and environmental compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate diverse teams in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with all organizational levels
  • Proficiency in health and safety management, including incident reporting and hazard identification
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Experience with operational planning, scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Competency in performance management and employee development
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills with a decisive, action-oriented approach
  • Familiarity with operational software systems and data management tools
  • Knowledge of budget management and cost control principles
  • Ability to work flexible hours and respond to operational demands as required

Required Certifications & Qualifications

  • Current car drivers’ licence
  • Current forklift, front-end loader, and excavator licence
