Video Editor and Social Media Manager
About this role
Video Editor & Social Media ManagerÂ
We are looking for a skilled and versatile Video Editor who can take raw footage and deliver polished, publish-ready content for social media, YouTube, and podcast productions. This is not a role for someone who just cuts clips — we need someone who understands storytelling, pacing, and what it takes to produce a final product that looks and sounds professional across every platform.Â
Â
Writing captions and scheduling social media posts is a secondary but important part of this role. You understand that a great caption is not an afterthought — it is part of the content. Getting the right content out at the right time on the right platform is a skill in itself, and we need someone who can own that too.Â
Â
Key ResponsibilitiesÂ
Video EditingÂ
- Edit short-form and long-form video content to a high standard — clean cuts, strong pacing, and polished delivery every timeÂ
- Work primarily in Adobe Premiere Pro and/or Final Cut Pro — proficiency in at least one is required, both is a strong plusÂ
- Apply color grading, audio balancing, transitions, motion graphics, and visual effects as neededÂ
- Edit content optimized for multiple platforms including Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedInÂ
- Maintain consistent brand look and feel across all video outputsÂ
- Incorporate feedback efficiently and turn around revisions quickly without sacrificing qualityÂ
- Organize and manage raw footage, project files, and assets in a clean, retrievable file structureÂ
Â
Captions & SubtitlesÂ
- Create accurate, well-timed, and visually appealing captions and subtitles for all video contentÂ
- Style captions to match brand aesthetics — font, size, placement, color, and animation all matterÂ
- Understand the difference between captions that serve accessibility and captions that drive engagement — and deliver bothÂ
- Edit and clean up auto-generated captions to ensure accuracy and readabilityÂ
- Write and format social media post captions that complement the video and drive actionÂ
Â
Social Media Management & SchedulingÂ
- Manage content scheduling across social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, and LinkedInÂ
- Use scheduling tools such as Later, Buffer, Hootsuite, or Meta Business Suite to plan and publish content on timeÂ
- Maintain a content calendar and coordinate with the team to ensure consistent, on-brand postingÂ
- Format and adapt video content for platform-specific dimensions, aspect ratios, and length requirementsÂ
- Monitor post performance and provide basic analytics reports on reach, engagement, and viewsÂ
- Stay current on platform algorithm changes, trending formats, and best practices for each channelÂ
Â
Content CollaborationÂ
- Work closely with the creative team to understand content goals and deliver on the visionÂ
- Provide input on content formats, trends, and ideas that could perform well on socialÂ
- Flag when raw footage needs reshoots or additional assets to meet quality standardsÂ
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines consistentlyÂ
Â
Required QualificationsÂ
- Strong, demonstrable video editing skills — a portfolio or reel is required for considerationÂ
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and/or Final Cut ProÂ
- Excellent captioning skills — both technical (timing, accuracy) and creative (style, engagement)Â
- Experience managing social media scheduling for a brand, creator, or businessÂ
- Understanding of content formats and best practices across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, and LinkedInÂ
- Strong eye for detail — you notice when a cut is off by half a second or a caption is misalignedÂ
- Reliable high-speed internet and a capable editing setup to handle video files remotelyÂ
- Excellent time management and the ability to deliver quality work on deadlineÂ
Â
Preferred QualificationsÂ
- Proficiency in both Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut ProÂ
- Experience with Adobe After Effects or motion graphics for title cards, transitions, and animationsÂ
- Familiarity with DaVinci Resolve or other professional editing toolsÂ
- Experience with scheduling platforms such as Later, Buffer, Hootsuite, or Sprout SocialÂ
- Background in content creation, influencer marketing, or brand social media managementÂ
- Ability to write compelling social media captions in English with strong tone and voiceÂ
