We are looking for a confident and knowledgeable Digital Content Specialist to help run and maintain the Thomson Reuters Foundation websites.

Our digital platforms are at the heart of how we tell our story, engage our audiences and demonstrate our impact. We are looking for an experienced and proactive Digital Content Specialist  to own and drive the quality, consistency and long-term health of Thomson Reuters Foundation’s digital presence.

About the Role

In this opportunity as a Digital Content Specialist, you will:

This is a hands-on role for a digital professional who takes pride in owning website content, from the quality of individual pages to the processes and standards that keep the site performing effectively. You will set and maintain website content standards, lead on digital hygiene, and use data to inform how content is managed and improved.

Working closely with the Digital Communications Manager, you will be a key partner to colleagues across different teams within the Foundation, particularly the Communications team and the Product & Technology team, helping ensure our digital platforms remain accurate, accessible and effective for our audiences.

  • Own website content standards, maintenance processes and long-term digital hygiene across Thomson Reuters Foundation's digital platforms. Carry out regular checks for broken links, outdated pages, inconsistent formatting and other digital hygiene issues.

  • Upload, build and update digital content including web pages, news and impact stories, reports, event pages and other digital assets. Ensure key organisational pages are kept up to date with relevant statistics, impact stories, calls to action, links and related content.

  • Ensure website content meets digital best practice standards for layout, accessibility, usability and audience appeal. Support Digital Communications Manager in delivering regular training and upskilling for other CMS users to ensure consistency across the site.

  • Maintain and advise on SEO best practice, including page titles, headings, links, metadata and content structure.

  • Source, upload and format appropriate images and multimedia assets, ensuring copyright, accessibility and presentation standards are met.

  • Use data-informed approaches to maintain and update website pages, ensuring content is accurate, timely and well presented.

  • Support site-wide content updates, including navigation links, campaign updates, event information, partner and programme information, and other recurring content changes.

  • Work closely with the Digital Communications Manager to maintain and update the digital content calendar.

  • Provide ad hoc digital support for events, webinars, campaigns and organisational updates, as needed.

  • Support on ongoing maintenance and improvement of other TRF digital properties and outputs, as needed.

About You

You're a fit for the role of Digital Content Specialist if your background includes,

  • Demonstrable experience maintaining and improving websites and digital content in an ongoing manner, ideally in a similar organisation or communications environment.

  • Experience using a content management system, ideally WordPress or similar.

  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, requests and deadlines.

  • Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders across teams, including non-technical colleagues.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • A solid understanding of digital publishing best practice, including page layout, link management, image use and user experience.

  • Working knowledge of SEO best practice, knowledge of AEO would be a bonus.

  • Awareness of digital accessibility standards, such as WCAG principles.

  • Confidence using AI tools to streamline and improve digital workflows and content processes when appropriate.

  • A collaborative, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.

  • The ability to troubleshoot content issues and clearly communicate and prioritise website bugs or technical requirements to Product & Technology colleagues.
