What you’ll do

  • Payroll Processing: Take ownership of end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payments for employees and third-party vendors. Daily tasks include validating payroll inputs such as starters, leavers, and changes, supporting multiple pay frequencies, and performing pre-payroll validation checks. Success means flawless payroll runs with zero errors and compliance. Travel may be required between Weir sites within Bangalore as part of regular payroll operations.

  • Compliance & Reporting: Support local tax compliance and regulatory requirements including PF, ESI, and other statutory payments. Assist with year-end activities and ensure GDPR compliance. Escalate any compliance risks promptly to maintain adherence to internal policies and external legislation.

  • Audit & Controls: Conduct reconciliation checks and maintain audit trails to support internal and external audits. Identify and resolve discrepancies to uphold payroll integrity.

  • Stakeholder Support: Act as a key point of contact for payroll queries, liaise with HR, Finance, and payroll providers, and escalate complex issues when necessary. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential.

  • Systems & Improvement: Maintain payroll records and support ongoing system maintenance, including Time and Attendance systems. Follow standard processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

What you’ll bring

Must-haves:

  • Minimum 3 years of payroll processing experience with end-to-end payroll ownership

  • Proficiency in Workday and strong knowledge of payroll operations and HR processes

  • Experience with statutory compliance including PF, ESI, and payroll-related regulations

  • Strong numerical, analytical, and Excel skills with exceptional attention to detail

Nice-to-haves:

  • Experience in the manufacturing industry

  • Exposure to Time & Attendance systems

  • Involvement in payroll migration or implementation projects

  • Experience working with third-party payroll vendors and multi-country payrolls

  • Experience supporting payroll populations of 1,000+ employees
