Workday - Senior Consultant, HCM Comp Lead

Avaap is seeking a Workday Senior Consultant, HCM / Compensation Lead to join our Workday practice. This role is ideal for a certified Workday professional with strong HCM and Compensation lead experience, proven client-facing consulting skills, and direct experience supporting government clients.

The Workday Senior Consultant, HCM / Compensation Lead will serve as a functional lead across Workday HCM and Compensation workstreams, guiding clients through design, configuration, testing, deployment, and post-deployment adoption. This individual will partner closely with client stakeholders and internal project teams to deliver high-quality Workday solutions aligned to business goals, industry needs, and Workday best practices.

Advanced Compensation and Learning experience are preferred, but not required.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Workday HCM and Compensation workstreams across client engagements.

• Facilitate client discovery, design, configuration, prototype, testing, and deployment activities.

• Translate client business requirements into scalable Workday HCM and Compensation solutions.

• Advise clients on Workday best practices, configuration options, business process design, security considerations, and downstream impacts.

• Partner with cross-functional teams including integrations, reporting, data conversion, change management, and project leadership.

• Support testing activities, issue resolution, client readiness, and go-live preparation.

• Serve as a trusted advisor to client stakeholders, helping guide decision-making and solution adoption.

• Identify risks, dependencies, and design considerations that may impact project success.

• Contribute to internal knowledge sharing, delivery quality, and continuous improvement across Avaap’s Workday practice.

What We’re Looking For

• Active Workday Certification required.

• Workday HCM and Compensation Lead experience required.

• Government industry experience required.

• Strong functional knowledge of Workday HCM, Compensation, business processes, security, and testing.

• Ability to lead client-facing conversations and guide stakeholders through complex design decisions.

• Experience supporting Workday implementations, deployments, or optimization efforts.

• Strong understanding of how HCM and Compensation decisions impact the broader Workday ecosystem.

• Advanced Compensation experience preferred, but not required.

• Learning experience preferred, but not required.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strong attention to detail and client service.

• Strong consulting presence with the ability to communicate clearly across project teams, client stakeholders, and leadership.

Pay Transparency

Compensation for roles at Avaap varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific business unit, team, role, skillset, and level of experience. As required by law, Avaap provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired.
Base Salary Range is $115,000 to $160,000 plus an additional 20% variable compensation is available for this specific role. At Avaap it is not typical to be hired at the top of the base salary range.
During the interview process, alignment to level will be determined and should level differ from position applied for, a new compensation range will be provided for the appropriate role.

Minimum Qualifications

Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills along with the ability to communicate effectively.
Must be able to perform work indoors and remain stationary at a computer.
Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
Passion for exceptional customer service and collaboration.
Ability to work remotely or out of one of Avaap's physical office locations.
Current permanent U.S. work authorization required.
